Social Bookmarking

This week was very easy! Finding websites i always visit and bookmarking them. Have not got round to putting up the educational ones yet, but it was fun and now friends anywhere can access my site and find the websites easily. Also with all the horse associations i am part of it saves so much time. Have not really had a lot of time to do many things this week due to having a cold and then the weather. What is the go with that?? Hot, windy, dusty and fires one day and windy and cool the next. And they say there is no problem with our weather! Tell us that when we have to live indoors all the time cos the weather is so unpredictable. I still remember when it was 40 degrees on Christmas Day and snowing the next.

well that is my say for the week. Hope you all enjoyed the work!

AEV Conference Experiences

I have just returned from Melbourne where i attended the Art Education Victoria Conference, which was held at Oakleigh Secondary College on Friday and Saturday. The workshops were really good this year and i was lucky enough to come back with heaps of ideas that i have already begun in the classroom. I participated in Life Drawing (yes with a real nude model), drawing with lots of media, textiles and oil painting. All of these were run by practising artists and artists who are well known in the community. It was good to hear Patricia Piccinini speak about her works which have to be seen to be believed. Anybody with a science background would love her work. She explores the melding of nature and technology and how we as humans manipulate nature for our own good. her sculptures are so life like. I suggest you all look at her website:

This piece is one of my favourites at the moment in Patricia’s words: “it exudes peace, they are comfortable with each other, asleep peaceful yet vulnerable, the beauty in her face of nuturing, but it is a creature that has been designed to harvest human body organs”

I suppose my art background helps me identify with her work, but it is an eye opener to the world around us.

anyway i have played with a few things in my blog here to lets see how it goes. Send me a comment to let me know.

New to all this!

Well here goes nothing. I am trying this for the first time and it all seems so easy. Can see how people make a living out of using blogs and how addictive it has become. I hope you all enjoy the course and can see that some of my posts will not always be educational. Most likely will use this to post things happening here in sunny Ouyen!
